This OCL280T oil country lathe has excellent performance and high quality. It turns pipe ends, pipe taper threads on oilfield tubular such as drilling pipes, casings, tubings, drill collars, stabilizers, Kelly connections etc. Used in oilfield drilling industry. Meanwhile, it has the functions of a general-purposed lathe. This oil country lathe, with its major components such as base, spindle and tailstock quill optimum designed and fine processed, had the advantages of large power, high speed, high rigidity, high precision retaining ability, low noisy level, pleasing appearance and operation friendly.
1. One-piece machine base made of high-density close-grained cast iron through resin sand casting and reinforced with II-shaped ribs features high rigidity, high vibration resistance and high section distortion resistance. Bed ways in a combination of V-shaped ways and flat ways are quenched and precision ground and the bed width is 600mm. Meanwhile, the machine base has its bottom tilting 45 degrees to remove the chips easily from its rear;
2. One-piece construction headstock case. The main motor mounted at the rear of the headstock drives the headstock through v-belts and enables the spindle to output high torque. Spindle speeds range is 5 - 315 RPM;
3. Motorized tailstock consists of the upper body and the lower body. The quill, spindle, manual/rapid traverse mechanism for quill and the spindle centerline adjusting mechanism of the tailstock are all mounted in the upper body. The stopping mechanism and the driving motor and gearbox is mounted on the lower body. The tailstock can perform rapid traverse along the bed ways;
4. Guide ways on the saddle coated with plastics to prevent it from jerking motion on the bed ways;
5. A taper turning attachment is fitted at the side of the saddle on this oil country lathe. It rules the saddle and the tool post to turn tapers less than 20 degrees on a length less than 300mm on the workpieces. On request, a 800mm length taper turning attachment can be fitted on the machine.
